SHANKS, Shirley Jean –
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Shirley on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at the age of 95. Loving wife of Donald Shanks for 71 wonderful years. Beloved mother of Ronni Dingwall, Rev. Deborah Shanks (Ray Lozano), and Cynthia Reid (Brian). Proud grandmother of Stephanie Newman, and Christopher Bennett (Nicole Besner) and great grandmother of Jordan Newman and Eva Bennett. She will be fondly remembered by nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Family will receive friends at Hetherington & Deans Funeral Home, 5176 Victoria Ave., on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 from 7 – 8:30 pm. A Funeral Service will be held at Stamford Lane United Church, 3855 St. Peter Ave., on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at 11 am. A private interment will be held at a later date. For those who wish, memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or to Stamford Lane United Church would be appreciated.
