Service Details
Surrounded by family, Shirley Ann Rowat, late of Weyburn, SK, passed away peacefully on December 30, 2017 at the age of 67 years.
Shirley was predeceased by her mother Gisela Carpendale and her companion Ed Hungle; step-dad George Carpendale; father Victor Venning; mother and father-in-law: Gray and Vivian Rowat; sisters-in-law: Joan Thompson, Carol Rowat , Barb Venning; brother-in-law Orville Thompson.
Shirley is survived by her loving family: her husband of 50 years Mel; daughter Tammy (Jeff) Cherlet; son Scott (Sherri) Rowat; son Shawn (Treena) Rowat; six beautiful grandchildren: Austin, Keaton, Darian, Addison, Kailee Ann, and Zackary. The eldest of seven, Shirley leaves her six brothers and sisters: Terry (Kathy) Venning, Vicky (Cec) Gerritsen, Kathy (Ron) Yanyk, Fred Venning, Gordie Venning, Ronnie (Doug) Birns; step-brothers: Allan and Lyle Carpendale; brothers-in-law Barry Rowat, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends.
The family would like to thank the wonderful doctors, nurses, and staff of Unit 6A at Regina General Hospital and 3rd Floor at Weyburn General Hospital. They all took such good care of Shirley.
As per Shirley’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. A Family Memorial will be held at a later date.
We are heartbroken and lost. But after looking after everyone else her entire life, Shirley is now resting comfortably. Goodbye Momma. We love you and will miss you so very much.
For family and friends so wishing, in lieu of flowers, charitable donations in memory of Shirley may be made to STARS Air Ambulance, 2640 Airport Road, Regina, SK, S4W 1A3.
