Sharon Lynn Cruikshank 2018

OBITUARY
Sharon Lynn Cruikshank
Born June 15, 1946
In loving memory of Sharon Lynn Cruikshank, who passed away peacefully on December 25, 2018. Sharon was the cherished mother of Jill Amery (Derek) and adored her grandchildren, Ford and Hudson of Vancouver. Sharon was predeceased by parents Brenda and Garfield Smith and vivacious aunt Hazel V. Paul.
Sharon was a creative and vital force who always found a way to inject magic into the lives of others, whether setting a special holiday table for children, dancing 1960’s-style to showtunes or engaging in shenanigans with dear friends. Her green thumb resurrected neighbours’ ailing plants and pets refused to leave her side.
She received her B.A. from Dalhousie University, her M.A. from Smith College and was certified as a Teacher of the Deaf at the Clarke School in Massachusetts.
Sharon was committed to her professional calling and always looked out to help those on the margins of society. She was a leader in Nova Scotia education and psychology, bringing transformative new perspectives on education for children with special needs. She leaves an important legacy and impact on many people, both clients and colleagues.
A private service will be held. Donations in Sharon’s memory may be made to IWK Hospital Foundation, the SPCA or a charity of your choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to JA Snow Funeral Home. The online guestbook may be signed by visiting: www.jasnowfuneralhome.com.
