Obituary Overview
Sharill Sylvia Jodrey
The family of Sharill Sylvia Jodrey sadly announces her passing on August 17th, 2018, at home following a long battle with various illnesses. Born in 1945 to Ira and Dorothy Langille, she was a lifelong resident of New Germany.
Sharill left an impression on all who met her. Always dressed to impress, with coordinated jewellery, makeup and nail polish, she could carry on a conversation like no one else. She could talk to anyone about just about anything. Her fantastic sense of humour lightened many moments over the years. She could always find a way and a reason to bring laughter to any situation.
Sharill was a strong independent lady with a kind heart and an understanding nature. She loved to dance (regular & square), was a great cook (never enough butter and cream), and kept an immaculate (and highly-decorated) home. She had a keen eye for pretty things, and loved to collect and display her treasures. Always her own individual, she could be seen driving around town in one of her antique cars, adopted a crow as a pet, and just couldn’t understand why everyone didn’t put up a Christmas tree in every room of the house.
Sharill attended North Rosedale School and New Germany High School, and went on to work for Rosedale Home for Special Care and the Bridgewater Irving Big Stop, and loved her years selling Avon in the community.
It brought Sharill much happiness to watch her grandchildren grow into young adults, and to recently witness her daughter walk down the aisle to begin a new journey.
Besides her parents, Sharill was predeceased by her husband Oakley Jodrey, her long-time companion Ronnie Schofield, her son-in-law Bill Taylor and her brother-in-law, Eldred Eisener.
Sharill is survived by her daughter Trudy (Steve Rigby), her grandchildren Josh, Shane, & Karlie Taylor, as well as her sister, Jackie Eisener and many nieces & nephews.
The family would like to thank the Continuing Care Staff, Palliative Care Team and VON for the attentive care they provided.
As per her wishes to “be there for the party”, a reception will be held in Sharill’s honour between 6 pm and 8 pm on Tuesday August 28th at the Barrs Corner Community Hall, to be followed by a candlelight interment at Epworth United Cemetery, School Street, New Germany. In recognition of her love of gardening, flowers are welcome.
Online condolences may be sent by visiting www.coleharbourfuneral.com or Trudy Rigby on Facebook.
Rest in peace Mom, Gangie, Sharill, Aunt Sharry. (And a personal ‘thanks’ from Trudy to Bill’s sister, Dawne, for this piece)
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Sharill Sylvia Jodrey 2018..
