Obituary Overview
Ruth Margaret Calder
1931-2018
It is with profound sadness that we, the family of Ruth Calder announce her passing on October 22, 2018. Left to cherish her memory are son David (Krista), daughter Kathryn, grandchildren Jocelyn, Caitlyn and Jonathan, brother Bernard (Marlayne) Nehring of Niagra Falls, sisters in law Rose Nehring of Bethlehem, PA, Darlene Nehring, and Iris Calder of Edmonton and Marguerite Nering of Calgary. Ruth was predeceased by her beloved husband of 50 years, John Gregory, her parents Hulda and Ludwig Nering, brothers Arthur, Reubin, James and Otto.
Ruth was born in Leduc but was raised in Bruderheim as the only daughter of recent immigrants. Having no extended family in Canada, her immediate family, church family and friends played a special role in her life. Following high school Ruth moved to Edmonton to attend business school. She held various positions with the longest being with Shell Canada. Ruth will be remembered as a selfless caregiver of her parents, husband, children and other family members. She had a strong devotion to family, to her faith, and her sense of fun was enjoyed by all.
Please join us in celebrating her life at 10:30 am on Friday November 9, 2018 at Edmonton Moravian Church at 9540-83 Avenue. Interment to follow.
We would like to thank Dr. Robert Welsh, Dr. Robert Bradstock, and the staff of the Mazankowski Cardiology Unit for their compassionate care. If so desired, donations in memory of Ruth can be made to St. Josephs Auxiliary Hospital 10707-29 Ave T6J6W1 or to the Mazankowski Alberta Heart Institute 8440-112 Street T6G2B7.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Ruth Margaret Calder 2018..
