Ruth Irene STEWARD
November 19, 1939 — July 16, 2018
A beloved Mom and Grandma, Ruth left us suddenly on a sunny Monday morning at Kelowna General Hospital.
Loved and deeply missed, Ruth is survived by sons: Lonny (Val) and Lance (Liz); granddaughters Jane (Curtis), Nicole and Samantha; grandson Joe (Jamie); great grandson Nolan.
Also left to mourn are brother Gary (Pat), in-laws Gail and Greg Prichard, Ken Christensen, niece Wendy and her children Dawson, MacKenzie and Hansen; nephews Douglas (Berna) and Raymond and several cousins and many dear friends.
Ruth was predeceased by her parents Gustav and Ada and by her sisters Betty and Carol.
Born in Edson, AB, Ruth spent most of her childhood in Tahsis and White Rock. As an adult, Ruth lived in Vernon, New Westminster, Peace River and Manning before moving to Kelowna in 1966. Ruth worked at the Ministry of Social Services for many years and has stayed close friends with several co-workers long after retirement.
Ruth never missed sending a card for every special occasion. Her generosity and caring will be deeply missed. A kind and gentle soul, Ruth’s greatest joys in life were as a Mom and Grandma. Her memory will be cherished always.
