Obituary of Roy Morris
Roy Mitchell Morris, 86 of Port Williams passed away peacefully June 11, 2018 at home with his loving wife by his side. Born in Dartmouth, he was the son of the late Ernest and Beatrice (Mitchell) Morris.
Roy was a devoted man and enjoyed the work he did for the communities where he lived throughout his life. Also, he loved his winters in Arizona and enjoyed square dancing. He was a member of the Lion’s Club for more than 40 years. Roy had a heart of gold and it shone brightly with him being a founding member of the Fidelis House and volunteering there in Kentville for the 15 years.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Constance “Connie” Morris; sons David (Ming) Morris of Ottawa, ON; Kevin (Christine) Morris of Dartmouth, NS; Ronald (Brenda) Morris of Ajax, ON; Andrew (Margie) Morris of Upper Sackville, NS; daughters Judy (Ronald) Roy of Fredericton, NB; Joanne (Michael) Draper of Melanson, NS; grandchildren Sean of Dartmouth; James of Ajax; Nicholas of Dartmouth; Joshua of Ajax; Alexander of Montreal, QC; Alissa (Jordan) of Fredericton, NB; Mitchell (Jamie) of Edmonton, AB; Justin of Halifax, NS; and great-grandchild Jayde of Edmonton.
Besides his parents, Roy was predeceased by brother Edward; sisters Beth and Lois; and granddaughter Caitlin.
A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, June 15, 2018 at 3:00 pm in the Orchard Valley United Church, New Minas with Rev. Ivan Norton officiating. Memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Diabetes Association or Nova Scotia Kidney Foundation. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, Wolfville Funeral Chapel, 568 Main Street, Wolfville, B4P 1E5 (902-542-4656).
