BORDEN (Bowden), Roy James – Age
86, Sunnyville, Guysborough Co. It is with great pain and sorrow that
we the children, grieve the passing of our dear father, Roy James
(Bowden) Borden, on Monday, October 15, 2018. He passed away
peacefully at the home of his niece Joan Clyke, where he lived in
Sunnyville.
Born in Sunnyville, he was the son of the late Clarey
(Bowden) Anderson and Anne Lucy Bowden. Roy worked at Canso Seafood
for many years. He was a great woodsman and hauled wood with his own
horse.
He is survived by sons, James, Peter, Paul and Phillip, all
of Halifax; sisters, Marie, Toronto; Elizabeth, Sydney; Christina,
Guysborough, Evelyn, Halifax; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren
as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was
predeceased by daughter, Carolyn McCarthy; sister, Lominda Anne
(Bowden) Clyke; wife, Mildred Borden.
We would to give thanks to Palliative Care. Also thank you
the the doctor’s and the nurses at Guysborough Mmeorial Hospital, who
looked after our uncle and father.
Visitation for Roy will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Thursday
in Grace Baptist Church, Sunnyville and from where the funeral service
will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday with Pastor John Bain officiating.
Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Guysborough. Memorial
donations in memory of Roy may be made to Grace Baptist
Church.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Dennis
Haverstock Funeral Home, Guysborough. Words of comfort may be
forwarded to the family at www.haverstocks.com
