Ross McCorquodale
McCorquodale, Ross James – Unexpectedly on Friday April 27, 2018 at Stratford General Hospital. Beloved husband of Linda (nee Morris). Born on March 16, 1941 to the late James and Myrtle McCorquodale. Dear brother of Alex (Beth)McCorquodale, Mary Bray, David (Diane) McCorquodale. Dear Brother-in-law to Sharon (Perry) Robinson, and Ken Ross. Predeceased by his sister Jean Ross (2000) and sister-in-law Sandra McCorquodale. Fondly remembered by fifteen nieces and nephews, and their children. “Uncle Ross” was an honorary family member to many neighbours and their children as well.
A lifelong love of farming led Ross to become the president of Bennington Club and Oxford County Junior Farmers, as well as a 50 year Veteran Member of the Holstein Association of Canada. An avid collector of antiques, Ross was a part of the Tri-County Heritage Club and Cockshutt Tractor Club. He was a member of Knox United Church Embro, and an Oddfellows Member.
A passion for travelling took Ross and Linda to visit Yukon and Alaska 15 times over the years. As members of the Roadtrek Motorhome Owners Club and Family Motor Coach Association, they enjoyed travelling throughout North America to visit family, friends, and motorhome rallies multiple times a year. Their favourite destination was Nettles Island and Disney World each winter.
Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family on Tuesday, May 1st, 2018, from 2-4pm and again from 6-8pm at the Brock and Visser Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave. Woodstock (519-539-0004). A funeral service will be held the following day, May 2nd, 2018, in the funeral home chapel at 2pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Stratford General Hospital, Canadian Cancer Society, the charity of your choice or a simple act of kindness to a friend; it’s a small world after all.
