Obituary Overview
Rose Livingston
Rose passed away peacefully in her sleep in the early morning of July 18, 2018, at the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Edmonton, Alberta, at the age of 95. Rose is loved and remembered by her four children Phylis, Maryanne, Lee, and Jane; grandchildren Jeremy, Daniel, Andrea, Crosby, Patrick, Joshua, John, Anne Marie, Stephanie, and Natalie; great-grandchildren Sara, Victoria, Sophia, Mariah, Casey, Hudson, Gray, and Asher. She is predeceased by her husband Philip Livingston, and siblings Marion, Ruth, Winifred, Harry, Jim, Norma, Grace, and Embry.
Rose was born on July 14, 1923 in Edmonton, Alberta, to parents Lloyd and Alberta Wood. She had a love of the water since childhood and spent much time with her parents and siblings at Seba Beach, where she learned to sail. Rose later met and married the love of her life, Philip, on April 15, 1951. Rose and her husband built a cabin together at Wabamun Lake, where many fond family memories were made for generations. As well, she always had a soft spot in her heart for Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, and took many a road trip south, to vacation with her close friends and family.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at the Royal Alexandra Hospital, Ottewell Medical Clinic, and the Churchill Retirement Home, for all their dedicated care over the past weeks and years. In lieu of flowers, the family requests your support for the Royal Alexandra Hospital Foundation and the C.N.I.B.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 28, at 1:00 pm at McDougall United Church, 10025 101 St, Edmonton, Alberta, 780-428-1818. Rose will be laid to rest alongside Philip, at Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
