Obituary for Rose Marie Kosteskie
KOSTESKIE: Rose Kosteskie. July 2, 1938 – July 25, 2018 Loving Wife, Mother, Aunt and Grandmother has slipped away from us suddenly. Rose is survived by her husband John Kosteskie of 58 years; son Michael (Marie) Kosteskie; grandsons: David Mummery; Michael Jr Kosteskie and Brayden Kosteskie; sister Dorothy Geletchuk; nephews: Darren Geletchuk and Steven Geletchuk; nieces: Laureen Geletchuk; Shannon Roshka Dyer; Faith MacDonald and cousins Walter Bulat and Lydia Bulat. She is predeceased by her daughter Patty Mummery (née Kosteskie); her brother Johnny and her parents Bill and Olga Roshka; mother- in- law Mary Kosteskie.
Rose enjoyed figure skating as a young girl and enjoyed the outdoors and working in her garden. She worked at the Cecil hotel for many years as a server. She enjoyed bingo and the casino. She loved to watch the soaps and game shows. Rose’s biggest passion was that she loved to decorate Easter eggs in traditional Ukrainian art. She was very active with the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, where she sang in the choir. Rose volunteered her time with the Ukrainian National Home, cooking and baking. A Funeral Service will be held at the Brockie Donovan Chapel, 332-8th Street, on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. Donations in her honour may be made to Canadian Cancer Society, 415-1st Street, Brandon, MB, R7A 2W8.
