Obituary of Ronald MacIsaac
MacIsaac, Ronald Joseph, 88, of Dunmore, Antigonish County, passed away Friday, December 28, 2018 in St. Martha’s Regional Hospital. Born in Dunmore, he was a son of the late Donald Joseph and Margaret (Boyd) MacIsaac.
Ron was born and raised in Dunmore where he worked on the family farm, he also spent time working in Ontario in construction and returned home to work in construction and farming. He enjoyed sports, especially curling.
He is survived by this wife of 63 years, June (Young); Children, Debbie (Daniel) MacIsaac, Goshen; Joanne (Jody) Cleary, Halifax; Colin (Marie), Montreal; Colleen (Mark) Flanders, Conn.; Boyd (Theresa), Antigonish; Mark (Laura), Antigonish; Donna (Eugene) Teasdale, Antigonish; Donnie (Mairi), Wolfville; Thalia (Kip), Vancouver, Stephen (Todd Brower), Los Angeles; 23 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; sister, Regina Jones, Halifax; Theresa MacIsaac, Halifax; and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased daughter Cindy, in infancy; sisters, Anne Brown and Marcella MacLellan.
Visitation will be held 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 pm on Monday, December 31, 2018 in MacIsaac Funeral Homes, Antigonish. Funeral mass will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, January 1 in St. Andrew’s Church, St. Andrews, Rev. Andrew Gillies presiding. Burial in the South River Cemetery. Donations may be made to St. Martha’s Regional Hospital Foundation. Family flowers only please.
