Romeo “Raymond” Ravazzolo
Ravazzolo, Romeo “Raymond”- -It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Ray Ravazzolo on December 1, 2018 at the age of 85. Peacefully like the benevolent man that he was, at the St.Catharines General Hospital. Loving husband of Madeline (nee Kuzler) for 63 years. Cherished father of Raymond and Mary-Louise. Extremely proud “Dubi” to Raymond and Andrew. Dear brother of Julia Serianni, Ida DeSimone and Ramona Scrivanni. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Egidio and Nazerena Ravazzolo, sister Mary Pupo and brother in law Victor Pupo, brother Louis and sister in law Dorothy Ravazzolo, sister Rena and brother in law Frank D’Amelio, brother in law David DeSimone, brother in law Joseph Scrivani and brother in law Joseph Serianni. Raymond was employed for 30 years by Atlas Steels until his retirement. Outside of work he could be found tending to his hobby farm. He was one of the founders of the Welland County Poultry Association. He also exhibited poultry for many years and was involved in the Niagara Regional Exhibition as an exhibitor, director and recently as an honorary director. He was a man of integrity who gave selflessly to his children and grandchildren whom he loved unconditionally. His quick wit and dry sense of humour will surely be missed by all. Special thanks to the health care professionals involved in the Niagara and Hamilton healthcare systems. The family will receive visitors at the H.L. CUDNEY FUNERAL HOME , 241 West Main Street, Welland on Friday December 7th from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8p.m. Vigil prayers Friday afternoon at 2 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Parish Community of St. Kevin, 307 Niagara Street, Welland on December 8th at 11:00 am. Right of Committal will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. If desired, donations to St Kevin’s Parish, Niagara Health Foundation or a charity of one’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
