In Loving Memory
It is with sadness that the family of Roderick William Chapman age 76 of Amherst announce his passing on Monday, March 26, 2018 at Cumberland Regional Health Care Center in Upper Nappan, NS.
Born in Amherst he was the son of the late Arthur and Frances (Lewis) Chapman.
Rod was best known for the many years he drove for Kelly’s Ambulance and D&J Taxi. He was a huge Amherst Junior Ramblers Fan and attended many of their home games. He was also a fan of the New England Patriots. He loved to go on weekend road trips and enjoyed driving all his life. He also enjoyed his afternoon coffee at Tim Horton’s with the boys.
He is survived by his children, Cheryl (Perry) Fenwick, Mary (Warren), Barb (Henry), David (Janey), and Billie all of Amherst as well as Roddy (Velvet), Port Elgin, 13 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren, his companion Delores “Dee” Wood of Amherst, her children Judy (Marty) Davis, Amherst and Sandra (Jose) Santiago, Massachusetts and their families, sisters Helen Johnson and Sherry Dixon both of Oxford and brother Arthur, Nanaimo, B.C., many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by brothers Lester and George.
A Celebration of Rod’s life will be held on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Campbell’s Funeral Home, 98 Church St., Amherst (902) 667-9906.
Donations in Rod’s memory may be made to the CRHCC Palliative Care or to the family to assist with final expenses.
