Obituary of Robert Smith
SMITH, Robert R.
Robert, late of Regina, SK, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 2, 2018 at the age of 88 years. He was a talented Master Carpenter and craftsman who loved to draw. Although he left the family farm at an early age, Robert devoted his weekends and vacations to helping out at the farm. He had a great sense of humour and loved to tell stories. Robert was an extraordinary gardener, loved playing cards, fishing, and spending time with his family. He was predeceased by parents Joseph and Alberta Smith; in-laws Bernard and Julianna Hicke; sister Frances deMontreuil; an infant brother; brothers-in-law: Robert Gibson, Herman Waeyen, Henry deMontreuil; niece Marie deMontreuil; granddaughter Kathryn Stephanson. Robert is survived by his devoted family that he loved deeply, who will always lovingly remember and miss him; wife Josephine; children: Marguerite (Randy) Stephanson, Linda (Peter) Lang, Wayne (Penny) Smith, Don (Carrie) Smith, Lauren (Rip) Smith; grandchildren: Mandy (Shane), Damien (Alyssa), Matthew; Dana (Jim), Josh (Casey), Chase; Zachery (Kimberly); Sophie, Taylor, Evan, Chris; Liv, Max: great-grandchildren: Layne, Frankie, Riley; Katja, Niesha, Anja, Ranier; Leonidas, Castiel, Persephone; great-great granddaughter Ivalyn; sister Theresa (Les); brother Joseph (Sherry); sisters-in-law: Betty, Rose (Norm), Mary Anne; brother-in-law Jim; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Martin de Porres, 4720 Castle Road, Regina, SK on Thursday, November 8, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. Private interment will be held in Riverside Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Martin de Porres building fund or a charity of your choice.
