WYMAN, Robert Roderick “Rod”
April 18, 1948 – January 12, 2018
It is with great sorrow that we share the news of Rod’s unexpected passing at Health Sciences North, at the age of 69. Beloved son of Pauline (nee Upchan) and Lloyd Wyman, both predeceased. Big brother to Rhonda (Jane) of Toronto. Devoted and loving father to Anthea Wyman-Bradley (Richard Bradley) of Newfoundland and father of Taylor Wyman (Laura Furchner) of Sudbury. Rod lived for his children and was singularly focused on them. He was an avid reader and an unwavering fan of the Montreal Canadiens. The Super Bowl was a much-anticipated celebration whereby he and his son would eat snacks from when they awoke, until bed time and Taylor was allowed to miss school the next day! Rod was a graduate of Laurentian University, had a wry sense of humour and will be sorely missed. Rod was a life-long music and concert aficionado. He was a die-hard Bruce Springsteen fan (another passion he shared with his son). Words taken from “We Are Alive” by Bruce Springsteen… “Oh, and though we lie alone here in the dark, our souls will rise to carry the fire and light the spark, to stand shoulder to shoulder and heart to heart. Let your mind rest easy, sleep well my friend, it’s only our bodies that betray us in the end.” As per Rod’s wishes, there will be no visitation or service. Cremation will take place at the COOPERATIVE CREMATORIUM, Chelmsford. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations (by cheque or in person) to Diabetes Canada. A celebration of Rod’s life will be held at a later date at Eddie’s Restaurant.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Robert Wyman 2018.source
