POLLOCK, Robert McKim
We are sad to announce that Robert McKim Pollock Passed away in is 93rd year on March 23, 2018 peacefully with family by his side at Gibson home in North York his and will start his new journey with his late wife Eulalie. Robert was born December 9, 1925 in Cyldebank, Scotland to the Late Robert and Annie Pollock. Robert was the oldest of 4 Children to which one was a twin Margaret, Hugh, and Isa. Robert lived his youngest years in Scotland. At 16 he lied about his age to join the Army as first he was part of the Home Guard and then later became part of the Famous Cameronians (Scottish Rifles) nicknamed “The Poison Dwarfs” and served in WWII. After the War he worked at Singer and then he was given the option to come to Canada in 1956 to settle in Toronto where he had many accomplishments, some of which was working on the Avro Arrow (engines) Tipco, Northern Electric 35 years (Northern Telecom and Nortel). Robert Found the Love of his life Eulalie White and was married in 1960 and had three Sons Andrew, Bruce, and John.
Robert will join the journey of his Late Wife Eulalie, his late sisters Margaret (Jack) and Isa (Peter), his Late Brother Hugh (Jean), his late sister-in-law Doreen, brother-in-law Harold and his great nephew wee Stuart. He will be sadly missed by his sons Andrew, Bruce, and John plus his extended Son Len, as well as his brother-in-law Mike Hurley and sister-in-law Mary Rossiter. He will also be missed by his nieces and nephew Iain (Margaret), Stuart (Marie), Mitchel, Peter, Diane, Kathy (Steve), Janet (Andrew), John (Jenifer), Jim(Jen). Great-nieces and Great-nephew Simon, Louise (Steven), John (Tayla), Samantha, James, Connor, Keighvin, Aidan, Katie, Jenny, Fiona, Julia, Devon, and Daniel. Robert was a great-great uncle to Isobel (which always brought a big smile to his face when he saw her picture) and the newest Monty who just turned one. Robert was poochie to Leah and Megan and Uncle poochie to the Lang family.
There will be a graveside service on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at 12:30 p.m. in the Garden of Gethsemane at Glendale Memorial Gardens, 1810 Albion Rd. in Etobicoke. A Celebration of Life reception will be held immediately following the graveside service at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #286 located at 11 Irwin Rd. in Etobicoke at 1:00 p.m.
