Robert Maxwell Gubbe 2018

OBITUARY
Robert Maxwell Gubbe
August 28, 1944 – November 30, 2018
Bob was blessed with a peaceful and comfortable passing after suffering a devastating illness.
He is predeceased by his parents Augusta and Robert; his mother-in-law Laura Turner; sisters- and brother-in-law Grace, Norma, and Ernie; and nephews Gordon and Ernie Jr. He leaves to mourn his wife of 45 years, Lois; his siblings Peter and Lila; his siblings-in-law Heather, Jim, Ruth, and Betty; many beloved nieces and nephews; and many dear friends, including Roberta and Nick, Linden and Denise.
Bob spent his childhood in a logging camp at Jeune Landing and in Aldergrove. After completing a Masters Degree in Urban and Rural Planning at UBC, Bob moved with Lois to Victoria where he began his long and varied career in the B.C. Public Service. Sailing and racing were among Bob’s passions, as were his travels with Lois in Europe and North America. He also devoted many hours of TLC to his hobby, his 1986 Alfa Romeo GTV6. Bob will be remembered as a man of integrity, who was a special friend, mentor, and helpmate to many.
Thank you to the many health care workers for their respectful, compassionate care of Bob during his illness. A celebration of Bob’s life will be held at First Memorial on Falaise Drive on January 26, at 2 p.m.
