Robert Dennis Hind September 20 2018

Robert (Bob) Dennis Hind, late of Radville, SK, passed away September 20, 2018, in the comfort of his home surrounded by family.
Bob was predeceased by his wife Darlene; his parents Vincent and Mabel Hind; brothers-in-law Frank and Ab; sister-in-law Eileen; father and mother-in-law Joseph and Juliette Mickler; son-in-law Jim; brothers-in-law Norman and Terry; sisters-in-law: Sharon, Delores, Loretta, Gloria and Bev.
Bob will be lovingly missed by his children: Sherry (Kevin), Charlotte (Darrell), Tracy, Harvey (Shawna), Bonnie (Lyle), and Karen; brother John; sisters: Ruth, Olive (Terry), Joan (Del); brothers-in-law: David, Lionel, and Delbert. Robert was blessed with and will be greatly missed by his sixteen grandchildren, five great -grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Bob was born in Radville, SK and was raised on a farm north of Gladmar. Bob farmed with his father between working in road construction. Eventually he met and married the love of his life Darlene; purchasing their own farm three miles south of Gladmar where they settled and raised their six children. Not only did Bob make his living as a mixed farmer, but he also worked at the Sybouts Sodium Sulphate Co. LTD. and drove the school bus to Minton and Gladmar.
Bob actively farmed with Harvey, up to the age of 83, always wearing a smile through good times and bad. Grandkids loved to ride in the tractor and combine with Grandpa or go to check the cows. He also spent many hours taking them for rides on the quad, teaching them about life on the farm. He loved his horses, but “Slim” was his favorite. He had a soft spot in his heart for all the dogs he had over the years, especially “Tucker” and his best bud “Chester”.
All who knew Bob learned to love his uncanny wit and great sense of humour. He loved to visit with friends and neighbours at the kitchen table, telling jokes over coffee. His grandkids knew he was a jokester and they never knew what to expect next. They would race to be the first one to sit on his knee, anxious to listen to all of his stories. Bob loved his family; entertaining his grandchildren over many holiday meals, tapping his foot, playing the spoons and singing, “She Will Be Coming Around the Mountain”. His hugs and kisses were always the best, and not one kid left the house without them.
Bob was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be missed dearly by all who knew him.
A Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. from the Gladmar Community Hall, Gladmar, SK. A private Family Interment will be held at Chapel Grove Cemetery, Minton, SK with Fr. Thuy Nugyen officiating.
