Obituary of Robert (Bob) Grant
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert Grant, who passed away peacefully from heart failure at his Waterloo home last Saturday. Lovingly mourned by his son Trevor, Trevor’s wife Stephanie and their young son William; and his daughter Alison Phillips and her son Keegan and daughter Emma; along with Bob’s sister Jennifer, brother Bill and their respective families. He was also dearly loved and will be missed by many other family and friends.
Bob was born in Toronto but grew up in Ottawa. He attended Queen’s University, achieving both a bachelors of Arts degree and a Law degree.
Bob was a longtime resident of Kitchener-Waterloo and was a firm believer in giving back to his community. As a highly regarded lawyer he put his talents to work not only for his clients, but also for various charitable organizations; taking on large voluntary roles with the Food Bank of Waterloo Region, St. Mary’s General Hospital Foundation, and the Salvation Army. An avid skier and outdoorsman himself, Bob also was a volunteer with Waterloo Region Track 3 Ski program and KidsAbility.
Bob’s life will be celebrated with a visitation for family and friends at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Wednesday, October 31, 2018 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Thursday, November 1, 2018 at 1 p.m.
Condolences for the family and memorial donations, in lieu of flowers, to St Mary’s General Hospital Foundation may be arranged by contacting the funeral home at www.erbgood.com or 519-745-8445.
