Peacefully at home, Ramara, on Sunday, March 25, 2018 at the age of 93 years. Alex Hewitt, beloved husband of the late Mary (nee Milne). Loving father of Donna Hewitt (Ian Brown) of Atherley. Cherished grandfather of Ellie and Katie Ruggles. Long-time friend of son-in-law Don Ruggles. His practical jokes and the ever-present twinkle in his eye will be sorely missed and fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews and the McIsaac and Leighton families. Born and raised on the family farm in Ramara Township, where he farmed until his passing. Alex is predeceased by his sisters Helen Meacher (Jim), Orma Goss (Mansell), Margaret Reid (Wally), Velma O’Connell (Charlie) and Louise Duncan (Jim). The late Mr. Alexander Hewitt will rest at the Mundell Funeral Home, 79 West St., N., Orillia on Tuesday from 2 – 4 & 7 – 9 pm. Funeral service will be held in the chapel on Wednesday, March 28th at 3 o’clock. Interment to be held at the Atherley Cemetery, Atherley.
