RITCHIE GRANT 2018

Passed away peacefully surrounded by love of his family, on Monday, November 19, 2018, at Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre, Barrie. Grant Ritchie of Elmvale, in his 81st year, much loved husband of Dianne (nee Fleming). Cherished father of Angela (Peter) Tinney, Brad (Julie) and Andrea (Cullen) Fay all of Elmvale. Will be forever missed by his grandchildren Andrew, Megan, Aiden, Taela, Brodie, Nevin, Brayson, Preston, Everson and Layton and his great grandson Bentley. Always remembered by his sister Dollie and brothers Stan (Jackie) and Russ (late Lynda) and his sister-in-law Sharon. Predeceased by his parents Herb and Helen “Nellie” Ritchie, parents-in-law Charlotte and Andrew “Si” Fleming, sister Barb and brother-in-law Don (survived by Mary). Grant was a member of the Canadian Clydesdale Horse Association for over 50 years, a Past President of the Ontario Clydesdale Club and was a lifelong exhibitor of heavy horses at national, provincial, state and local fairs having won numerous awards. He was also an avid hockey player, having played many years of minor, intermediate and Oldtimer hockey in Elmvale. He is a member of the Springwater Sports Hall Of Fame as a member of Elmvale’s first Ontario championship team – the 1955-56 Juveniles.
Friends are invited to visit with family at the Lynn-Stone Funeral Home, Elmvale, on Friday, November 23rd from 2-4 and 7-9 pm.
Funeral service on Saturday, November 24th at 2 pm, Elmvale Presbyterian Church.
Spring interment Elmvale Cemetery.
