Obituary of Richard Carey
CAREY, Richard
Passed away peacefully with his family by his side, after a short battle with health issues, on Sunday, May 13, 2018 in his 73rd year. He is now rejoined with the love of his life Vera. Son of the late Garfield and Katerine Carey. Loving father of John Paul Carey and his wife Heather, Kelly Lawrence and her husband George. Cherished Grandfather of Matthew Lawrence and Sarah Lawrence. He is survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by sisters and brothers Joan Barrie, Garfield “Brother” Carey, John Thomas Carey, Delores Beaton, Lorraine MacDonald and Buddy Roland. A special thanks to the Nurses and Doctors at the Hamilton General ICU West for the care and comfort they provided to Richard. Cremation has taken place. Friends will be received at Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Friday, May 18, 2018 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Inurnment to follow at Mountview Gardens Cemetery.
