In Loving Memory
SHIBLEY, Richard Patrick – Died Sunday December 23, 2018 at the Welland Hospital at the age of 80, after a long illness. Born March 3, 1938 to the late Faris and Margaret Shibley. Beloved husband of Marilyn (nee Fretz). Loving father of Sherry Bruck (Fredric), the late Scott, Bradley (Susan) and the late Darin. Cherished grandfather of Krysta, Chelsea, Quinn and Jeremy. Great-grandfather of Rilah. Dear brother of the late Douglas (Dolores), the late Michael, Paul (Rosemary), Veronica Grabell (Richard), Elizabeth Giampaola (Louis) and brother-in-law of the late Darryl Fretz (Mary) and Randall Fretz (Marie). Also missed by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Richard grew up in Port Colborne and then lived for over 50 years in Welland before moving back to Port a couple years ago. He worked at the factories, Bell Canada, and then retired as a jail guard in 1995. Afterwards he did periods of security work at Niagara College and Welland City Hall and he enjoyed the opportunity to meet with the public at these places. Richard volunteered for many committees at St. Kevin’s Church and volunteered for many years at Sunset Haven and Woodlands of Sunset. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday December 27 at the Parish Community of St. Kevin, 303 Niagara Street, Welland, at 1 p.m. Interment will follow at Pleasantview Memorial Gardens. Those who wish may make a memorial donation to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of their choice. Arrangements in care of J.J.
