Richard Giba
It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Richard Allan Giba. Richard passed away in his home on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at the age of 54.
Richard was born on November 10, 1963 in Fort William, Ontario to Louis and Hilda Giba. He was raised in the East End with his brothers and sisters. Richard attended St. Peter’s Elementary School and went onto Selkirk High School.
Richard was an avid outdoorsman and was happiest when he was with his family and friends out on the lake. He enjoyed sports and you could always find him cheering on the Boston Bruins and the Dallas Cowboys. Richard had many jobs throughout his lifetime. His most memorable was working at various camps as a guide.
Richard is survived by Crystal White, son Allan (Amanda), daughter Cassandra, his two granddaughters Taylor and Ellie, sisters and brothers Sylvia (Albert), Leonard (Rosa), Larry, Roxanne (Terry Sr.), and Paul, as well as many nieces and nephews. Richard was predeceased by his father Louis, mother Hilda, sister Gladys, brother Derek, sister Roseanne and nephew Matthew.
Funeral services for Richard Giba will be held on June 7, 2018 at Jenkens Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Gordon Holroyd officiating. Visitation will start at 1:00 p.m.
