Reverend Msgr. Jean-Luc Pigeon
On Monday, October 22, 2018, Reverend Msgr. Jean-Luc Pigeon passed away peacefully at the St. Therese Health Care Center in St. Paul, Alberta at the age of 88 years.
Born in St. Prosper, Dorchester County, Québec in 1930, Jean-Luc Pigeon was ordained a priest in 1960 to serve the Church in the Diocese of St. Paul; at the parishes of Legal, Brosseau, Therien, Lafond, Elk Point, Mallaig, St. Lina, Goodridge, St. Vincent. Msgr. Pigeon also served the diocese as financial administrator, vicar general and chancellor.
Reverend Pigeon leaves to mourn two brothers: Gabriel of Ste. Germaine-Boulé, Abitibi, QC, Claude (Marie-Thérèse) of Ste. Germaine-Boulé, Abitibi, QC; two sisters: Isabelle of Boucherville, QC, Madeleine of Québec and two sisters-in-law, Anne-Marie Bilodeau of Coaticook, QC, Marie-Paule Lantagne of Lac Etchemen, QC; as well as several nieces and nephews, friends, former parishioners and brother priests.
Reverend Msgr. Pigeon was predeceased by his parents: Albert and Délina (Larochelle), seven brothers, one sister: two brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law. Reverend Msgr. Pigeon will be remembered in their prayers by the priests of the Diocese of St. Paul and the faithful he served and worked with in many parishes.

Mass of Christian Burial, Friday, October 26, 2018, 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul Cathedral, St. Paul, Alberta with Most Reverend Bishop Paul Terrio, Bishop of St. Paul presiding. Le lundi 22 octobre 2018, Mgr. Jean-Luc Pigeon est décédé à l’hôpital “St. Therese Health Care Center” de Saint-Paul à l’âge de 88 ans.
Mgr. Jean-Luc Pigeon, né en 1930 à Saint-Prosper, comté de Dorchester, QC, a vécu tout son ministère dans le Diocèse de Saint-Paul depuis 1960 jusqu’à 2003, date de sa retraite à Saint-Paul.
Il laisse dans le deuil ses deux frères: Gabriel de Ste. Germaine-Boulé, Abitibi, QC, Claude (Marie-Thérèse) de Ste. Germaine-Boulé, Abitibi, QC; deux sœurs: Isabelle de Boucherville, QC, Madeleine de Québec et deux belles-sœurs: Anne-Marie Bilodeau de Coaticook, QC, Marie-Paule Lantagne de Lac Etchemen, QC; ainsi que des neveux et nièces. Mgr. Pigeon rejoint dans la Maison du Père ses parents: Albert Pigeon et Délina Larochelle; sept frères, une sœur, deux beau-frères, et deux belles-sœurs. Ses confrères prêtres du Diocèse et les nombreux fidèles avec qui il a travaillé en paroisse et au Diocèse se souviendront aussi de lui et prieront pour lui.
La vigile de prière aura lieu le jeudi 25 octobre 2018 à 19h30 à la Cathédrale de Saint-Paul, présidée par l’Abbé Gérard Gauthier. La célébration de la Résurrection aura lieu le vendredi 26 octobre 2018 à 11h à la Cathédrale de Saint-Paul, présidée par Son Excellence Mgr. Paul Terrio, évêque du Diocèse de Saint-Paul. L’inhumation suivra au cimetière catholique de Saint-Paul, Saint-Paul, Alberta.
