Rev. Francis James Aylward – November 20, 1950 – January 28, 2018. Peacefully departed this life at the Leonard A. Miller Centre, St. John’s, on Sunday, January 28, 2018, in the presence of loved ones.
Leaving to mourn his sister Irene Burke (George); and his brothers: Majella (Marion), Jerome (Renee), Laurence (Brigitta), and Philip (Faith); his uncle Hubert Yeo (Maude); many nieces, nephews, and their families; and parishioners throughout the Dioceses.
Visitation will take place from Assumption Roman Catholic Church, Avondale, on Monday, January 29, from 6:00pm-9:00pm; and Tuesday, January 30, from 1:00pm-9:00pm.
Visitation will continue at Sts. Peter and Paul Church, King’s Cove, Bonavista Bay, on Wednesday, January 31, from 11:00am-9:00pm.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Sts. Peter and Paul Church, King’s Cove, on Thursday, February 1, 2018, at 11:00am.
Interment to follow at the Priests’ Plot, at the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Cemetery, Harbour Grace, on Thursday, February 1, at approximately 4:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Father Aylward’s memory can be made to Immaculate Conception Parish, St. Anne’s Parish, Assumption Parish, or Sts. Peter and Paul Parish, King’s Cove, Cemetery Memorial Fund.
