Reid Nelles McKiee of Simcoe, Ontario

MCKIEE, Reid – At peace and with dignity, on December 12, 2018 in the home he loved in Simcoe, ON. Survived by his wife Janiss, brother Nelles (Carole) and many nieces and nephews, Reid was predeceased by his sister Christie, first wife Dalia and his brother Jay. Reid always said that fourteen summers at Onondaga Camp fostered friendships and memories that lasted his lifetime. His passion for golf and memberships at Kanawaki, Lambton, Beacon Hall and Toronto Golf Clubs also forged bonds of friendships he valued greatly. Following his father’s career path, Reid entered the investment business and spent over twenty years in institutional sales for Equitable Securities, MacDougall McDougall & Mac Tier Ltd. and Canavest House. In 1980, Reid established an investment consulting firm FACTS, to assist investors in selecting and monitoring their own professional investment manager. He was Founder and Publisher of Canada’s Money Managers Directory. When Reid and Janiss married in 2007, his heart expanded to include daughters Stephanie (Rod McInnes) and Nicole (Seth Adler), and he became proud and loving Grandpa to Cash, Haven, Beau and Presley. He generously shared the winter family home in Arizona and it became the hub of their good times together. Family memories were gathered here and for that we are forever grateful. A passionate gardener, Reid revealed the magic of the desert to his grandchildren. Cremation has taken place. A gathering of friends and family will follow in Simcoe and a celebration of life in Tucson.
