Obituary for
Reginald Joseph Boyles
The final whistle was blown for Reginald Joseph Boyles on Monday morning, October 1, 2018. Reg passed away peacefully and on his own terms at the age of 85, with his family by his side. Loving husband of Gwen (nee DuVall) for 54 years. Beloved father to Janice (Mitch) and Richard (Karen) and cherished grandad to Kieran, Ella and Ryan. Predeceased by his parents Reginald and Elsie (nee Dancy), he leaves behind his younger brother Peter (Anne). Fondly remembered by his brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, godchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Reg will be remembered for his dry British humour and his lifelong dedication and passion for rugby, as player, coach and referee. Heartfelt thanks to the staff at Elizabeth Bruyere and Park Place Retirement Residence and to Dr. Wooltorton and Dr. Saar, for their kindness and caring.
Family and friends may visit at the West Chapel of Hulse, Playfair and McGarry, 150 Woodroffe Ave. (at Richmond Road), Ottawa on Tuesday, October 9, 2018, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and after 2:00p.m on Wednesday. A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00p.m. on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 in the Chapel, followed by a Reception. Private interment. Memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, or a charity of your choice.
