The family of Regina McBride announce her passing on February
23rd at the Saint John Regional Hospital. She
was the daughter of the late Hugh and Josephine
(Hogan)O’Brien of Mount Prospect.
Regina lived her whole life in the Smithtown and Hampton
area. Devoted to her family and community, she was an avid quilter,
baker and reader. Fiercely proud of her Irish heritage, Regina
spearheaded a fundraiser for the revitalization of St. Luke the
Evangelist Cemetery for twenty eight years. Her faith was an integral
part of her life, and in 2013, she was awarded the Bishop Dollard
Medal for her exemplary contribution to parish life over the
years.
Regina is survived by her sons Fred (Beth), and Neil (Judi),
her daughter Terri (Alan), and daughter-in-law Betsy; five
grandchildren, Shannon (Shannon), Dylan, Jade (Tyler), Jesse, and
Jared(Lorien); five great grandchildren. Ana, Jamie, Lily, Hudson and
Cohen. She was predeceased by her husband Ned, her son Reg, and her
siblings Bill, Maurice, Gerard, Reg (her twin), Josephine, Geraldine,
Anne, and Jennie.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Reid’s Funeral
Home (506-832-5541), 1063 Main Street, Hampton, NB, where visitation
will be held on Tuesday, February 27th, 2018 from 2-4 & 7-9
pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St Alphonsus
Church, Hampton on Wednesday February 28th at 11am. Burial will be in
the springtime at St. Alphonsus Cemetery. Donations in
Regina’s memory may be made to any charity of the
donor’s choice.
