OBITUARY
Raymond William Butt
January 10, 1931 – September 12, 2018
Raymond William Butt of Dartmouth, passed away on September 12, 2018. Born in Halifax, he was the son of the late Jim and Carrie Butt and was the sole surviving member of his family. He is survived by son Alan (Angela), Halifax; daughters, Karen Morton, Mahone Bay; Joan (Craig) Pike, Janet (Peter) Hollett, Dartmouth; Judy (Richard) Hodgson, Halifax; grandchildren, Robert Paul and Tania, Shauna, Stephen, Tara, Jacob, Christopher and Matthew, step-grandchildren, Jeff, Andrew, Mitch and Liam, along with several great grandchildren. Predeceased by daughter, Mary; brothers, James and Stan; sister, Catherine and grandson, Bobby.
Ray loved his church and was a faithful parishioner of Saint Mother Teresa of Kolkata Parish. A hard working man who provided well for his family. He loved to laugh and always had time to share a story or two. He will be remembered for his willingness to help others in need.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to War Amps of Nova Scotia. There will be no visitation at Ray’s request. A funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday September 25 in Saint Mother Teresa of Kolkata Church, 6032 Normandy Dr. Halifax, reception to follow. Interment will take place in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 33 Old Sackville Rd, Lower Sackville, NS, following the reception. Arrangements are under the care and direction of J. A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax, NS B3S 0E1
