It is with great sadness that the family of the late Rancie Gordon Barnes announce his passing on Sunday, October 14, 2018 at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook at the age of 65 years. Rancie loved the great outdoors, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a hardworking carpenter and loved enjoying life. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Wanda Lee (nee Cox); sons: Brandon, Fort McMurray, Zechariah (Chelsea) and Aaron (Kassandra); grandchildren: Arabella and Ryan; father and mother-in-law Gordon and Maudie Cox; sisters: Brada (Alex Kennedy), Geneva and Betty (Bill Laing); brothers: Gerald (Rita), Darrin (Helen) and Dennis; grandparents-in-law Randolph McCarthy and Ruby Gillam; brothers-in-law: Gordon Jr. (Jeannie) and Robert (Krista); aunts: Dorothy Parsons, Trout River, Florence Bennett, Mt. Moriah and Dinah Hussey, Cox’s Cove; his 2 dogs Jake and Jasper; special friend Henry Morgan; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his son Chad Barnes, parents Roland and Phoebe Barnes, grandparents William and Emma Hussey and Frederick and Martha Barnes, nephew Eddy Brake. A special thank you to the nurses and staff at the Palliative Care Unit. Friends may visit Emmanuel Pentecostal Church in Cox’s Cove on Sunday 7-9 p.m. and Monday from the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. from where the funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 16 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Orvin Canning officiating. Interment to follow at the Pentecostal Cemetery, Country Road, Cox’s Cove. As expressions of sympathy flowers graciously accepted or donations may be made to the Emmanuel Pentecostal Church, Cox’s Cove or charity of one’s choice.
