Ralph Milton Dorcas 2018

Ralph Milton Dorcas
Jan. 29, 1928 – Dec. 12, 2018
Sadly, after a fall, Ralph passed away peacefully in Centennial Place, Millbrook on Wednesday, December 12, 2018. He was a great husband, father, grandfather and step-father. Ralph was born in Williamsburg, NB to Wesley & Beatrice on a snowy night on January 29, 1928. He was the 10th of their 15 children. Ralph leaves behind his wife Lois; Children Marilyn, Marlene, Neil, Ruth (predeceased) and Irene; Step-children Kathy, Jim, Mike and Kelly. He is also survived by 2 older sisters Eva & Joyce and 4 brothers Harold, Wilf, Vernie and Robert. Harold is 100 years old. Ralph took great pride in bragging about his children, 21 grandchildren and 4 small great-grandchildren. He had many jobs including working at a lumber camp, for Heintzman Piano and Imperial Oil before joining the North York Fire Department where he stayed for 31 years. It is ironic that he was also retired for 31 years! Due to Alzheimer’s, Ralph spent the last five years in Centennial Place where he still enjoyed playing cribbage. The staff has been wonderful, especially this past week. A special thank you to Narissa & Carrie who could always get around his stubbornness. Ralph & Lois enjoyed travelling and always had a great time visiting with our families down east. Our nephew Greg Moon made the beautiful urn from Ralph’s favorite tree – the maple. In Ralph’s memory, a donation to the Alzheimer Society of Canada would be appreciated. www.fallis-shields.com
