Howe, Philip John Melville
Philip passed away peacefully with his loved ones by his side at the CKHA-Chatham Campus on Tuesday, July 31, 2108 at the age of 89.
Philip was born in Chatham and was the son of the late John and Elizabeth (Nelson) Howe.
He farmed in Raleigh Township for many years and also worked for British Leaf Tobacco Company for 31 years.
Beloved husband for over 60 years of the late Peggy (McCoig) Howe (2014).
Caring companion of Jean Newcombe of Chatham.
Loving father of Jeff (Christine) Howe of Eden, and Kevin (Paula) Howe of Barrie.
Dear grandfather of Steven, David (Tricia), and Matthew Howe and great-grandson, Hudson.
Sadly missed by his brother-in-law Robert (Heather) Burns of Blenheim.
Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his sisters, Jacqueline and Mary and his brother, Bob (Elaine).
The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham, ON, on Saturday, August 4, 2108 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
The Funeral Service will take place at the McKinlay Funeral Home on Sunday, August 5, 2018 at 1 p.m., with Rev. Michael Maroney, officiating.
Cremation to take place with an interment at a later date in Maple Leaf Cemetery.
Donations in memory of Philip to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
