OBITUARY
Mr. Peter Baird Jones
February 25, 1933 – July 30, 2018
Peter Baird Jones died peacefully in Peace Arch Hospital on July 30, 2018 in White Rock, BC
at the age of 85.
Peter is survived by his wife Liliana Jones. He is also survived by his children Carol Cummings, Glenn Jones, Sandra Macri, Peter Baird Jones Jr., Joyce Jones, his many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his first wife Marion Shearer Robertson Jones.
Peter was born on February 25th, 1933 in Grangemouth ,Scotland to David and Elizabeth Jones. He moved to Vancouver, Canada in 1965 with his wife Marion and his 2 children (Carol and Glenn at the time). Peter and Marion bought a house shortly after in East Vancouver and continued living there for many years with their growing family up to Marion’s passing in 1988.
Peter was a very skilled and respected carpenter that worked for the Carpenters Union for many years. He was very well respected by his co-workers, peers, friends and family. He married Liliana in 1995 and moved to Delta where they lived happily with their dogs. Peter was a very competitive man who excelled at everything he did. He loved playing badminton, golf and snooker. He will be greatly missed and very fondly remembered by all.
Peter’s wishes were very specific and clear. He will be cremated and a very private funeral for family only will be held on August 09. 2018. There will be a Celebration of Life held in his honor on Aug. 25th, 2018 at the Kennedy Seniors Recreation Centre at 11760 88th Avenue, Delta BC, V4C 3C5 between 1:00pm and 3:00 pm. Everyone is welcome to come and share happy memories, stories and photos of Peter Baird Jones. Please do NOT send flowers but feel free to donate to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of Canada.
