Perley’s Obituary
Bent, Perley R.R. – 89 of Lawrencetown, NS passed away on Tuesday, August, 28, 2018. Born in Lawrencetown, Annapolis County, Perley was the son of Samuel F. and Rhoda (Slocomb) Bent. Perley was a meat cutter and owned Bent’s Meat Market for a number of years. Following the Market he worked for the Dept. of Lands and Forests. Perley loved his family very much and enjoyed being in their company. He had a kind heart. Surviving is his wife of 68 years , the former Shirley E. Rafuse. Also survived by his Daughter Lynn (David) Spears, Lawrencetown and son Brian, Cottage Cove/Florida. Grandchildren Amanda Spears, Lawrencetown, Zachary Bent, Belleville, Ontario; sisters Rhoda ( Matthew) Pembleton, Lawrencetown, Ruth Bent-Bartman, St Jean, Quebec; brothers Donald (Shirley) Bent, Lawrencetown, and Terry (Susan) Bent, Lawrencetown, Sisters-in law – Betty (Charlie) Woodworth, Kentville, Donna (Bill) Underwood, Trout Lake/Florida. Nieces and nephews, Donna, David, Joy, Graham, Stephen, John, Suzanne, Cathy, Jeff, Peter, and Angela. And two very special pups, the girls, Kaleigh and Sophie, who loved Grampy dearly. Spook, Tory, Sam, Katie, Reece, and Heidi will be waiting for him on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge. He will bring doggie treats. The family would like to extend a special thank you to nurses Brianna Bent and Abigail Bezanson for their kindness. In keeping with Perley’s wishes there will be no visitation or funeral service.
