The death of Penelope Ann “Penny” Somers of Cassillis, NB, formally of Matthews Settlement, NB, occurred at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at the age of 66. Born in Ontario, Penny was the daughter of the late Cleveland and Mary (O’Hearn) Somers formally Matthews Settlement, NB. Penny is survived by two sisters: Lucinda Irving (Glendon) of Matthews Settlement, NB, Rosemary Hamilton (Sterling) of Halcomb, NB; four nieces: Cindy and Kimberly Irving of Moncton, NB, Sheila Murphy (Eugene) and Michelle Hamilton all of Halcomb, NB; her friends at the home: Kathy, Ann and Pam and her caregivers: Valerie Harvey (MOM), Crystal and Dennis Farguharson. Penny is predeceased by her parents and one brother Murray. By request there will be no visitation or funeral service. A Graveside Service will be held at the Back Road Cemetery, Lyttleton, NB, at a later date. In Penny’s memory a donation may be made to the Diabetic Association. The family would like to thank Dr. Rigley and the staff at Miramichi Regional Hospital as well as the Extra Mural nurses for their excellent care given to Penny.
