Pearl MacIsaac 2018

Pearl MacIsaac
MacIsaac, Pearl Gertrude
– It is with heavy hearts and overwhelming sadness that we
announce the passing of our precious wife, mother, grandmother and
great-grandmother Pearl Gertrude MacIsaac on, August 30,
2018.
Born in Pictou on November 26,
1942, Pearl was the youngest child of the late Mary and Kipling
MacKenzie. In 1961, she married her true love, Angus (Sonny)
MacIsaac.
Pearl was a faithful member of the Stella Maris
Church in Pictou and in later years enjoyed attending Our Lady of
Lourdes Church in Stellarton. Her religious convictions were a
valuable part of her life. Pearl manifested her faith in the
way she lived, the things she did, and her relationship with God. She
touched many lives; always with a positive impact, a kind word for
others, and only saw good in people.
Her greatest passion in life
was her love for Angus. She took great pride in her children,
grandchildren and great-grandchildren as they journeyed through
life.
Her days spent with her bridge friends the
“Glammie’s” brought much joy to her life. Quiet
times were often spent painting which was a source of pride to her
family. On a pleasant summer day Pearl could often be found delighting
in a game of golf. Many memories have been made with family and
friends throughout the years as they traveled to places of
interest.
Pearl’s countless hours of volunteering
with numerous organizations brought much gratification to many, but no
one more, than to herself. Throughout the years many valuable
friendships were fostered which led to a well-lived life for
Pearl.
Pearl leaves behind to mourn, her soul mate, Angus,
her children and grandchildren, Gordon (Shauna), Zach, Kayla, Chantel
and Cole; Angela (Royden) Boudreau, Natalie and Amanda; Lonnie
(Debbie), Kevin and Craig; Peter, Haleigh and Hilary;
Susan (Hugh) MacDougall, Sean, Angus and Brett;
and six great-grandchildren; Benjamin and Hannah Fraser,
Leland and Waverly MacIsaac, Jami and Sarah MacIsaac; sisters Muriel
Turple and Florence Blair, brother, George (Kay) MacKenzie
and sister-in-law June Brown, and many nieces and
nephews.
She was predeceased
by her great-grandson Bauer Jax MacIsaac; brothers, Lonnie MacKenzie
and John MacDougall; sisters, Ann MacKay, Agnes Fraser and Catherine
Brown.
Special thanks are extended to
the doctors and nurses of the Emergency and ICU Departments, to Dr.
Ann Kwasnik and the staff of the Palliative Care Unit. The
family would also like to express gratitude to special friend Dr.
Imran Hack.
Her remains will rest at the H.W. Angus Funeral Home,
New Glasgow for visiting from 6-9pm
Friday(today).
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1pm
Saturday from Stella Maris Roman Catholic Church,
Pictou.
Burial will take place in the Seaview Cemetery,
Pictou.
Family flowers only. Donations may be made in
Pearl’s memory to the Pictou County Food Bank, the
Palliative Care Unit of the Aberdeen Hospital or to a charity of
one’s choice.
An angel lived among us,
A gift from God
above.
She showered us with
kindness
And shared with us her
love.

  1. To put this simply, I remember Pearl as a beautiful , loving person. Reading her obituary legitimizes and affirms these memories. Her legacy to family and community is huge and her presence will be missed. Though I have been away from Pictou for a long time, I can still see her warm smile in my minds eye. Respectfully, with prayers for those she has left to feel sad……Helen (Cormier) Coulombe

  2. Saddened to see the loss of such a lovely lady. I met Pearl while teaching bridge in Pictou County and she was a gracious, enthusiastic student of the game. My condolences go out to her family and friends.

  3. Hi Sonny,
