DELMAS, Paul (retired Deacon)
April l6 1939 – May 19, 2018
Peacefully at the Queensway Carleton Hospital, surrounded by his family. Lovingly remembered by his wife of 50 years Lillian and his children Michael Delmas (Dennis) and Ariane Swietochowski (William). Cherished grandfather of Darren, Ethan and Ella. Beloved brother of Carol Butzelaar (Peter, deceased) and Gwendolyn Landolt (Jack); predeceased by Frank (Mary Jean). Paul received a PHD(Econ) in 1973 from Columbia University and was ordained a permanent Deacon in 2003. He was a seeker of knowledge and studied Greek, Latin, Spanish, French and Italian. Much of his life was driven by his desire for a deeper understanding and expression of his faith of his faith. He shared this through his involvement with Prison Ministry, Miriam Center, RCIA and Bible Study Programs. He was also an avid cyclist; he had many opportunities to travel; and, he enjoyed creating happy memories with his grandchildren. Paul was a kind and gentle spirit, a great listener and was loved and admired by all who knew him. He will be deeply missed. The family would like to thank the ACE Unit at the QCH for their kind and compassionate care. Friends are invited to join the family at Holy Redeemer Church, 44 Rothesay Drive, Kanata ON. Monday, May 28, 2018 after 10 am .A Mass of Christian Funeral will take place at 11 am. Interment will follow at St. Patrick’s Church Cemetery, Fallowfield. In memoriam donations to the Miriam Center, Birthright or the Companions of the Cross appreciated by the family. Sharing memories and condolences can be made to www.kellyfh.ca
