Obituary for Paul Hureau
Paul James Hureau passed away on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at Creek Way Village Long-Term Care Home in Burlington.
Paul grew up as the son of Thomas and Sarah (Bobbie) Hureau in Hureauville, Nova Scotia. He was very proud of his Cape Breton heritage. Paul was very close to his brothers and sisters – Bernadette (Kennedy), Shirley, Leona, Andrew and Thomas.
After graduating from St. Francis Xavier University, Paul moved to Hamilton to find work. He was reunited there with other young Maritimers who became his wonderful lifelong friends. Paul and his wife Virginia (Carter) established themselves in Burlington and together they had two children- Johnathan and Carolyn of whom he was extremely proud.
Paul was a manager at The Steel Company of Canada for over 25 years. He was an executive award-winning member of many professional organizations. Paul was also an avid gardener who enjoyed running, baseball and skiing. In 1994, Paul survived a very serious accident sustaining life threatening injuries. The result was declining health for the remainder of his life.
The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to their friends at Creek Way Village for their ongoing and extended support.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at Smith’s Funeral Homes (1167 Guelph Line, Burlington) followed by a brief memorial service at 5:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Parkinson Canada.
