Obituary of Patricia Dixon
DIXON, Patricia Doreen As in life, Patricia Doreen Dixon forged her own way into death at her home on Wednesday, June 6th, 2018 at the age of 85. She spent her last days surrounded by friends and family, and was able to enjoy her garden until the very end. Patricia is survived by her children, Jordon Hale (Brenda Donnelly) and Evan Hale (Joanne Hale), her step-daughter Cindee Karnick-Davison (Paul Davison), and by her grandchildren Sarah Fortin (Joe Fortin), Samantha Hale, Griffin Hale, Matthiew Davison (Kathleen Donnelly) and Adam Davison. Her children and grandchildren all shared in her final journey.
Patricia spent her working life as a beloved teacher and special education advocate. She was also a very active voice in Peterborough, and a generous supporter of the arts community and of the many other causes important to her. She was kind and gentle but also direct and succinct; attributes that enabled her to effect change wherever she felt it needed.
A celebration of Patricia’s life will take place in her garden from 1-4pm on June 24th. If you wish to make a donation in Patricia’s honour, please sponsor a child through, or donate to, World Vision. Online condolences may be made at www.AshburnhamFuneral.ca
