Gerald Glen Ohlhausen
1936 – 2018
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Gerald Glen Ohlhausen. He passed away peacefully on September 23, 2018 at the age of 82.
Gerry is survived by his wife Marion of 51 years. His two daughters Karen (Rick) Beaulieu and Shelly (Gerry) Tennant, four grandchildren Sam (Anna) Beaulieu, Rebecca (Connor Wonko) Beaulieu, Ryan and Megan Tennant, two great-granddaughters Lucy and Mila, as well as loving siblings, nieces and nephews.
Gerry was born April 24, 1936 to Ann and Emanuel Ohlhausen. He met his life partner in Revelstoke in the summer of 1967 where their life together began. In 1978 he was transferred to Salmo where he and Marion still resided at his death.
Gerry had a tough go with many accidents and health issues but never let it keep him from enjoying life. He loved to be around people, loved a good joke, and was always up for a game of scrabble or crib. You could always find Gerry in his happy place woodworking, or taking his quad up the mountain.
He will be sadly missed by those that knew and loved him.
A Celebration of Gerry’s life will be held on October 6, 2018 at 2:00 pm at 212 Cedar St. Ymir, BC. All are welcome to attend. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made in Gerry’s honour to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of BC, www.heartandstroke.com.
