Obituary Overview
In Loving Memory
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Norman Funk on December 23, 2018. Norm is survived by his wife of 57 years, Audrey, daughters Jeananne and Rosemary (Knute) and grandchildren, Aidan, Hannah (Mark), Patrick (Emily), Peter (Andrea), Paul, John and Matthew. Norm spent most of his life in Toronto and loved the city. As the public relations officer for the TTC, he knew the city like the back of his hand. He was the organist at St. Luke’s Anglican Church in Toronto for over 50 years and loved to go to organ concerts when he had the chance. He and Audrey relocated to Kingston in recent years to be closer to family. He was a wonderful father and grandfather and loved spending time with his family. Blessed with good health his entire life, he really didn’t slow down much until the last months of his life. He had an acute case of FOMO (Fear of Missing Out) and if there was anything going on, he wanted to be in the middle of it. He will be greatly missed.
The family will receive friends at St. James Anglican Church, 10 Union Street West, Kingston, Ontario, on Thursday, January 3, 2019 with visitation from 10:00am until 11:15am followed by the memorial service at 11:30am.
In lieu of flowers, please consider sending a donation to the Primate’s World Relief and Development Fund of the Anglican Church of Canada or the University Hospitals Kingston Foundation directed to the palliative care unit at Providence Care Hospital.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Norman Funk 2018..
