NORMAN EDWARD DAVIDSON JUNE 14, 1939 – OCTOBER 23, 2018 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Norm – our much loved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and good friend to many. After a brief illness with cancer, he passed away peacefully on October 23 in the Palliative Care Unit at the Nanaimo Regional General Hospital. Norm cherished his family. He is survived by his wife of 54 years- Dawn, his two sons- Paul (Bonnie), and Scott (Jan), three grandchildren- April, Laurel and Sam, two brothers- Arthur and Gary (Stephanie), two sisters-in-law- Cathy and Joanne (John), a brother-in-law- David (Ada) and many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Agnes, his sister-in-law Gloria and two brothers-in-law – Bruce and Paul. Norm grew up in Nanaimo and spent his career in the forest industry, working many years for The Mayo Lumber Co. and S.Madill Ltd. He loved to spend time holidaying throughout B.C. and in the Yukon, Alaska and Arizona. He enjoyed walking, running, working out at the gym, playing senior ball in Nanaimo and in Arizona, and years ago, coaching youth softball and racing cars. He was a past member of the Royal Canadian Legion. We would like to thank the doctors, nurses, staff and volunteers at NRGH, especially The Palliative Care Unit for the wonderful care they gave Norm and the support they extended to our family. They are an exceptional group of people. We would like to extend an invitation to our family and friends to join us in saying farewell to Norm. We will be gathering at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 256 on Wellington Road in Nanaimo on November 23 from 1- 4 P.M. In lieu of flowers, a donation on Norm’s behalf can be made to the Palliative Care Unit at NRGH.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Norman Edward DAVIDSON June 14 1939 October 23 2018 (age 79)..
