THOROGOOD, Noreen Elinor
Surrounded by the love of her family, Noreen Thorogood died Wednesday, April 4, 2018, at North Bay Regional Health Centre. She was in her 81st year. Noreen (Merritt) was predeceased by her husband Gordon E. Thorogood (1932-2008). She was the beloved mother of Jim (the late Peggy) of Trout Creek, June Gorman (the late Duane) of Elliott Lake, Randy (Kathryn) of Orillia and Doug (Dianne) of Port Carling. Grandma will be lovingly remembered by seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Noreen is survived by her sister of Irma Peever (the late Morris) of Owen Sound, and was predeceased by her brothers Kenneth, Milton, Doug and Harold Merritt. The Thorogood family will receive visitors at the Paul Funeral Home, Powassan on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 for a memorial gathering from 2:00 to 4:00 pm. A brief memorial service will take place at 2:30 pm. An additional Celebration of Life will take place in the Vimy Lounge of the Orillia Legion Hall, on Thursday, April 12 from 2:00 to 5:00 pm. Interment of Noreen’s cremated remains will take place at St. Andrew’s-St. James’ Cemetery, Orillia at a later date. If desired, memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society are suggested.
