Norah Margaret Warr 2018

Obituary Overview
Remembering Norah
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Norah Margaret Warr, on March 25, 2018 in her 106 year of living.
She was predeceased by her parents, husband Jimmy, sister Louise Clare, and nephew Ronald Clare. She is remembered and will be deeply missed, by daughter Sandra and husband Avery Stetski, nephew Brian (Laurie) Clare,
niece Shirley Clare, niece June (Warren) Arnett, and many great-nieces and nephews.
Born in Willows, Saskatchewan, Norah grew up in Croydon, BC in the Robson Valley, and in 1930 at the age of 19, she moved to Edmonton. The very next day, Norah met Jimmy Warr; the two were married in 1936, and settled
in Edmonton. However, Norah always had a fondness for the Robson Valley in BC, making her last visit there just last
September, at 105 years old.
Norah lived her 106 years with a great enjoyment of life. She was a most loyal and supportive wife and mother, regaled in the company of family and friends, especially if dancing was involved.
Norah worked for Woodward’s Department Stores during World War II and continued as a faithful employee until her 70th year. She was a long and active member of the Central / Kirk United Churches and taught Sunday School for many years. She was also an active member of Queen Mary Park community.
We wish to convey our heartfelt thank you to Maxine Sweitzer and her daughter, Amber for their wonderful companionship and friendship. Also, a note of gratitude to the staff of Laurier House Lynnwood for their kindness, care, and compassion.
A Celebration of Life will occur on May 12, 2018, at 2 PM, at Howard & McBride Chapel of Chimes, 10179 108 St, Edmonton. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Laurier House Lynnwood, c/o Capital Care Foundation, 6th Floor, 10909 Jasper Ave, Edmonton AB T5J 3M9.
