Nellie “Ivy” King
KING, Nellie “Ivy”
Age 65 of Fall River, passed away 7:15 p.m. Friday, December 29, 2017 at the Halifax Infirmary with family and friends by her side. She was born April 25, 1952 in Gander Newfoundland, to Peter and Olive Mullett. She is survived by her loving husband, David “Ross” King, married in Glenwood, Newfoundland, December 24, 1971, and their two children Jonathan (Tracy) King of Hammonds Plains, Charlotte (Rodney) Clark of Lantz, and two grandsons, Maxwell and Brody. Also surviving are her brothers, Roland (Joan), Jerry (Kathy) and Dean Mullett of Glenwood, Newfoundland, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by her father, mother and one sister. Ivy was a long-time resident of Lower Sackville and Fall River where she mainly lived since leaving her childhood home in Glenwood at the age of 19. She graduated from Gander Community College in 1969 and worked as a secretary at two engineering firms before becoming an employee of the Federal Government where she worked at Revenue Canada, National Defence, and Public Works and Government Services in human resources for 35 years. Ivy loved to cook, enjoyed reading and playing games, especially Scrabble. She enjoyed flower gardening, entertaining and visiting with friends and family. Visitation from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, January 4, 2018 at Full Gospel Church, 2256 Larry Uteck Blvd, Bedford. The funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 5, 2018 also at Full Gospel Church. Reverend Russell Knowles will be officiating. Burial in Oakridge Memorial Gardens, Middle Sackville.
