Wednesday, September 25th, 2018 at Extendicare Falconbridge, Sudbury.
Beloved wife of George Piirainen predeceased 1975. Loving mother of Randy (wife Sandra), Robert (wife Nancy), and Jane. Cherished grandmother of Heather predeceased, Melanie (husband Brandon Lefebvre), Jocelyn (Geronimo), and Julia. Dear daughter of Lennart Hjorth and Helen Passi (husband George) all predeceased. Sadly missed by many cousins.
Born in Pori, Finland, Myra came to Sudbury in 1929. She had been a stenographer, retiring in 1975. Myra lived life to the fullest. She had many activities, which included reading, curling, cross-country skiing, amateur radio operator, knitting, and gardening. She was happiest hosting family dinners where everyone enjoyed her delicious cooking and wonderful hospitality.
Funeral Visitation at the
Lougheed Funeral Home
252 Regent Street at Hazel Street, Sudbury
Sunday, September 9th, 2018
from 10am-12noon,
with words of remembrance at 12 noon and a reception to follow.
Cremation with interment in the family plot at the Park Lawn Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society or Finlandia Village SISU Foundation would be appreciated.
