It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Muriel Eileen Rose (Nelson) Farrer at Riverdale Manor in Hampton, NB on December 21, 2018. She was born in Saint John, NB on April 4, 1927 to the late Eustace and Isabelle (LeBuffe) Nelson and was the loving wife to late husband Thomas Farrer.
Muriel was the mother of 10 children. She loved to tend to her flower gardens and maintained that green thumb until her health told her she couldn’t anymore. She worked in various departments at the General Hospital, retiring in 1987, and she liked to read the newspaper and do her crossword puzzles. She lived a full life and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her sons; Robert (Mary), Alton, Daniel (Beth), Richard (Bonnie), Timothy, Stephen (Donna) and Andrew (Theresa), daughters; Cheryl Farrer, Gay Farrer and Susan (Emile) Arseneault, 23 grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren and one great great grandson, along with her brothers Donald, William and Ronald (Jane) Nelson, and sister Sharon Lister as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her sisters Wanita Marshall and Dorothy Limbault, sister-in-law Doris, brother-in-law Jim Lister, and daughter-in-law Ann.
Arrangements are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424). In keeping with Muriel’s wishes, cremation will take place. Interment will be held at a later date. For those who wish, memorial donations made to the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated.
