Murial Anne Deeves December 8 1941 June 13 2018 (age 76)

Anne Deeves passed away peacefully in the early hours of June 13, 2018 at Dulcina Hospice in Calgary. Anne was born in Calgary, Alberta on December 8, 1941. She grew up on the North Hill in Calgary but also spent many summers with her mother, sister and cousins at her aunt’s farm near Hay Lakes, Alberta. She graduated from Crescent Heights High School. Anne was always devoted to her family, friends and colleagues. Anne loved working and being active. From 1967-1969 Anne was an Abel Seaman in the Royal Canadian Naval Reserve at HMCS Tecumseh in Calgary, sharing many adventures with her husband, Alec. After attaining her PMLA (Petroleum, Mineral & Land Administration) diploma from Mount Royal College, she worked in the oil industry for many years. In the 1980’s, she attended the University of Calgary, attaining her BA in English and her B. Ed. Anne was a dedicated substitute teacher from 1988-2017. She was always an enthusiastic participant in the Substitute Teachers’ Group and the Alberta Teacher’s Association, working diligently on behalf on substitute teachers. Anne is survived by her husband, Alec; her daughters, Toby and Carla and their husbands, Jason and David; grandchildren, Marcus, Myles, Shannon and Madeleine; sister, Shirley; and nephew Jordan; as well as her cousins, her mother-in-law, brother-in-law and sisters in-law, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents George and Violet. The family would like to thank all of her relatives and friends, as well as the staff at Dulcina Hospice for their care and support.
